Privacy Policy
Section 1Current status
The English Privacy Policy for editorial's international service is still being prepared and has not been approved for launch. This notice does not describe a production data-processing arrangement or authorize the submission of personal data or confidential material.
The existing market-specific policy is not reproduced or translated here. Its legal references, data categories, vendors, transfer disclosures, retention periods, and rights procedures must be verified against the international product and each supported market.
Section 2Review required before launch
Qualified counsel and the product team must approve the following areas against the production service:
- Responsibility and scope: the controller, privacy contact, customer roles, supported countries, and applicable privacy regimes.
- Data and purposes: account, billing, usage, support, manuscript, report, and technical data; their sources, purposes, and legal bases.
- Manuscripts and access: permitted content, publisher responsibilities, access controls, sensitive-data restrictions, deletion controls, and incident handling.
- Vendors and transfers: production providers, subprocessors, contracts, hosting locations, transfer mechanisms, safeguards, and change notices.
- Retention and rights: evidence-based retention periods, deletion behavior, request channels, identity verification, complaints, and regional variations.
- Cookies, security, and automation: storage and analytics tools, consent choices, communications, public security statements, AI processing, human review, and product telemetry.
Section 3Operational alignment
The approved notice must match the live system, vendor settings, customer contracts, consent flows, deletion behavior, and support procedures. International manuscript intake and checkout should remain unavailable until that review is complete and the required notices are published.
Section 4Questions and company details
For verified company details, see Company information. For a general privacy-status question, email support@bookend.tech without attaching a manuscript, payment details, personal data, or confidential client material.
